Student Council

Welcome to our Student Council page!

Our Student Council gives pupils a voice in school life and helps us work together to make our school the best it can be. Members are chosen to represent their classmates, share ideas, listen to others, and help bring positive changes across the school.

Being part of the Student Council is an important responsibility. It’s about showing respect, being a good role model, and working as a team to make decisions that benefit everyone. Together, we help shape a school we can all be proud of.

Visit from an MP

Our Student Council recently had the exciting opportunity to meet and speak with our local MP, Katie White. The children prepared thoughtful questions, including why young people should trust politicians, what steps are needed to become a politician, and her views on social media and the potential ban for children under 16.

It was a fantastic chance for pupils to learn more about democracy and how decisions are made that affect them. We are incredibly proud of our Student Council representatives  for representing the school so confidently and asking such insightful questions.

Katie praised the school’s Student Council for their thoughtful questions and confident engagement during their meeting. She was impressed by the pupils’ interest in democracy and the way they asked considered questions. Katie highlighted how articulate and engaged the representatives were, and said it was a pleasure to speak with such curious and well prepared pupils

All Saints Church of England Primary School - Collaborative Learning Trust

Collaborating Across the Trust

Our Student Council and MindMate teams recently worked together on a visit to Prince Henry’s Grammar School as part of the Collaborative Learning Trust. The day began with a social media icebreaker activity, followed by school profile preparation and presentations in groups, giving pupils the chance to share and learn about different schools. They then enjoyed a guided tour of the school before breaking for lunch. In the afternoon, pupils took part in a Place2Be workshop, worked in mixed groups on a creative task, and finished with action planning back in their school council groups. Here, they reflected on and presented ideas about our school values and what they love most about our school.

It was a great opportunity for our Student Council and MindMate teams to work and collaborate with other schools within the Trust, sharing ideas and highlighting what we already do well, as well as considering how we can continue to improve. A key part of the day was a Place2Be workshop linked to Children’s Mental Health Week, which encouraged pupils to reflect on wellbeing, emotions, and how we can support ourselves and others.
