Autumn Term

The autumn term is always very exciting! It's a new start for all of us. Our teachers are: Ms Morison, Mrs Butterill and Miss Monaghan.

Mrs Butterill is a higher level teaching assistant and will cover for Ms Morison every Tuesday afternoon.

Miss Monaghan has previously worked as a teaching assistant in other school. We are pleased to have her in Willow Class this year.

We've had the most magical day. We enjoyed a mid morning Christmas brunch with fruit, cheese and bread. After dinner, we played party games and danced with Year 1. The chocolate game was a big hit! Then it was time for Santa to drop in with a little gift.

December 2019: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We have revamped our class library. It's a cosy snug with fairy lights. The perfect place to curl up with a good book.

12th November: Maddie's Fantastic Factory Tour at Otley Courthouse. We had a fabulous time meeting Maddie Moate from Cbeebies Maddie's Do You Know? Someone got to make and eat chocolate spread!

8th November: Love for Reading. Every Friday before Golden Time we cosy up with a good book and sometimes a blanket and a cuddly toy. We are lucky to have Mrs Bona helping us on Fridays now too.

We are learning about multiplication in our mathematics lessons. Look at our arrays and equal groups. Can you think of the equations that represent these objects?

Proud Willow. Look out for our writing and models based on our class book; Beegu by Alexis Deacon. Our work is displayed proudly near the main entrance for everyone to see.

24th October: The raffle was drawn today for the half term reading challenge. There were 5 lucky readers today but everyone who received 30 Dojos or more won a pencil and certificate. Well done readers! Watch this space for next half term's raffle prizes.

22nd October: As part of our RE work, we baptised a baby today and enjoyed some christening cake. The baby has be named Poppy Willow!

11th October: Skylar's Missing Note. We really enjoyed Jen and Sam from Artforms Leeds performance and workshop. Thank you Mrs Wilson for organising it and thank you Mrs Warren for paying for it!

October 2019: Willow performing 'Cauliflowers Fluffy' for the Harvest Festival at Bridge Street Church.

September 2019: Using freeze frame role play to retell the story of Beegu.

September 2019: Our class book is Beegu. Beegu has come to earth by accident. She is lost and all alone. Strangely enough, there was a crash in our wildlife garden. We think it must have been a ufo!

The Kandinsky gallery by Willow.

September 2019: Mixing colours. We are learning about the artist Kandinsky. Today we used warm and cool colours to paint in the style of Kandinsky.
