As part of a whole school science experiment, Maple class performed some unusual experiments with Skittle sweets. 

We experimented by placing a range of different coloured skittles around the edge of a white plate and then poured warm water in the middle. When the water touched the skittles the coloured coating dissolved, spreading through the water and creating amazing patterns. 

The colour and sugar dissolve into the water and then diffuse through the water, making it the colour of the skittle.

We also experimented by placing skittles of one colour in each quarter of a plate and creating different patterns. Maple class then drew some of the patterns, blending and choosing colours to match those they saw.
